Set within a 40-hectare vineyard in a high-tech glass building in Bilbao, Azurmendi showcases some of the finest cooking in the Basque area.
Spearheaded by chef and owner Eneko Atxa, who achieved three Michelin stars within seven years of the restaurant opening, Azurmendi uses the best ingredients from the Basque area to create Spanish haute cuisine.
Atxa has also sought to create a restaurant that is at one with the environment. As well as using both solar and geothermal power, most of the restaurant’s vegetables and herbs are sourced from its own greenhouse and gardens.
