The Canary Islands may not seem an obvious choice for a cycling holiday, but just think what's on offer on the amazing island of Lanzarote: easy access, year round sunshine, minimal rainfall, some of the most dramatic and fascinating landscapes in Europe, and restrained development, which has preserved the best characteristics of the island. Add to that the opportunity to enjoy fine beaches, and top quality accommodation and you have an inviting holiday!

Lanzarote displays its origins everywhere. Volcanoes and immense lava flows surround you as you cycle first north and then south across the island. The itinerary allows you to enjoy the beautiful coastline and beaches as well as the startling interior, including the famous Parque Nacional de Timanfaya, where the island's volcanic nature is at its most spectacular. You can visit the former residence of Lanzarote's most famous son, César Manrique, the enigmatic architect, artist and ecologist who did much to encourage the sympathetic and managed development of Lanzarote. Manrique's artwork and sculptures can be seen throughout the island.

Accommodation is in 3-5 star hotels and in quality casas rurales (country villas). Five evening meals are included, and you have the option of a self-guided or guided holiday. Rest days, and rides of alternative distance on cycling days give you flexibility. You can even cross on the ferry to nearby Fuerteventura with or without your bike to experience another Canary Island.
