DiCaprio earned five Oscar nominations for The Wolf of Wall Street. Forbes reports that the movie was initially a risk for him because he had to cut his upfront fee in order to get the film made. However the risk seemed to be worth it as The Wolf of Wall Street earned $395 million at the box office. The Great Gatsby earned $351 million at the global box office.
