Anti-aging Power of SunscreenBy now, you probably already knew that sunscreen has the power to help prevent potentially cancerous skin damage. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, SPF 15 sunscreens filter out 93 percent of UVB rays, SPF 30 shields up to 97 percent, and SPF 50 blocks 98 percent. But for the first time, scientists have proven that daily sunscreen use significantly slows skin aging—even among middle-aged men and women.

In a new study in the Annals of Internal Medicine, Australian researchers calculated the photo-aging — the negative effects on the skin from long-term sun exposure — of more than 903 people age 55 and younger. Groups were formed with a group told to use sunscreen SPF 15 daily and another group told to use it as they wish.  At the beginning of the study, skin samples were taken from some of the participants in each group.  Four years later, skin samples were taken and compared to the original samples.  Study participants who wore sunscreen daily showed 24% less skin aging after four years than those who were less consistent about applying it.

Haven't been a religious sunscreen applier before now? There's some great news for you too. The same journal article suggests that daily sunscreen use may have the power to reverse existing damage. At the start of the study, 58 percent of the subjects showed signs of moderate photo-aging, but that number dropped to 49 percent by the end of the study.

So, there's no time like the present to make your skin look even younger. DERMAdoctor's Photodynamic Therapy 3-in-1 facial lotion with broad spectrum spf 30 works to make your skin look rejuvenated in two ways: not only does it contain broad spectrum SPF 30 coverage, it also contains a patent-pending technology that captures the UV rays we are exposed to from daily outdoor activity and transforms it into a wavelength of visible red light, which is a proven energy source for evoking anti-aging effects on the skin.

Ain't Misbehavin' skin clarifying & mattifying sunscreen spf 30 is the ideal choice for anyone who is prone to blemishes or has oily or combination skin. It contains willow bark, which is a natural source of salicylic acid that helps clarify skin, witch hazel, which is a natural astringent, and polymers that soak up excess oils and mattify the skin.
